KIA INSPECTION

– Had an appointment to bring the Kia for its state inspection. I could have done it anywhere but decided to drive 15 min across the river to my Kia dealer. When I got there I decided I wanted them to look at a thumb tack stuck in one of my tires and also a dome light that I noticed wasn’t working as of just last night.

– Of course, it wasn’t just a “yeah, we can plug this thumb tack hole” case. It was, “No, you need a new fucking tire” case. Yeah, fuck you. $700 Firestones only two years old. I’m not buying a new set.

-And of course, they wouldn’t do the inspection because even though your car is in great shape, a FUCKING THUMB TACK IN THE TIRE deems it unworthy to pass inspection.

– And the dome light? No…. it’s not just a fucking bulb or fuse. It was a problem in the overhead light unit.

– I waited there THREE hours for them to get approval from the warranty company to fix it. They were on hold the entire time with the company. I finally said Fuck it, I’m leaving.

– Cost to get the overhead unit replaced will be $175.  The warranty has a fucking $150 deductible. So all this is for $25.

– When I left I found that in three hours they didn’t even fucking attached my new Registration sticker to the window like I asked them to. Now I have to grab my scraper and Goo Gone and do it myself.

– After that waste of time, I have to spend half the day at Firestone tomorrow to see if they’ll fucking fix the tire.

– Only good news is that I wouldn’t have to buy a new set. He said I can get by with one tire only if it needs to be replaced.

– When I get home, there are two thick stacks of notices under my door with bright pink cover sheets. Two copies of the fucking foreclosure notices for my Dad’s house apparently left by the reverse mortgage company. Same as the ones Helen dropped off the other night.

– Called my lawyer and FOR ONCE he says he’ll take care of it. Too bad it’s taken fucking $25K and 6 months to have him finally take some weight off my shoulders.
